Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in overhead
  line design for transmission and distribution
  systems up to 132kV.
• Demonstrated expertise in earthing system
  design and control plant design related to
  overhead lines.
• Strong understanding of EPCM & EPC project
  environments, incl. budgeting, scheduling, and
  procurement.
• Experience with environmental impact 
  assessments and land use requirements for
  overhead line projects are advantageous.
• Experience with integrating renewable energy
  solutions into transmission and distribution

We are seeking a dynamic Electrical Project Engineer to join the EHL team.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in Project Engineering (designing and facilitation of projects) in the Solar Energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sectors. This role is integral to delivering innovative renewable energy solutions to our clients and ensuring project success from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for solar
  PV and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with
  industry standards and regulations.
- Both C&I (Commercial and Industrial) and Utility
  Scale will be an advantage.
- Must show experience in working in the EPCM
  and EPC project environment.
- Project documentation, risk identification and
  mitigation, etc.
- Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs),
  layouts, and detailed design documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical
  evaluations for renewable energy projects.
- Perform system modelling and simulation using
  tools like PVsyst, PVcase, ETAP, or similar
  software.
- Understand Project schedules and basis of
  schedules.
- Any FAT and Commissioning experience will be
  an advantage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including
  civil, mechanical, and procurement teams, to
  ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical support during project
  implementation, including site visits, installation
  supervision, and system commissioning.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory
  authorities to obtain necessary approvals and
  ensure project milestones are met.
- Prepare technical reports, bill of materials (BOM),
  and project documentation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring
  quality, safety, and budget adherence.
- Willing to obtain Pr.Eng.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  (B.Eng) or equivalent qualification.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in solar PV design
  and BESS projects.
- Proficiency in electrical system design tools and
  software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of electrical codes,
  standards, and regulations relevant to renewable
  energy projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to
  detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
  with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  and stakeholders.
- Organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience with South African renewable energy
  regulations and standards (e.g., NERSA, Eskom
  processes) is a bonus.
